Michael Costanzo is the Head of Data Science at AURA Technologies where he leads development and infrastructure efforts supporting AI and ML programs. Mr. Costanzo has 25 years of experience in the development and support of critical business systems in the public and private sector. As the Director of Systems Development for the North Carolina Department of State Treasurer, Mr. Costanzo oversaw a team of over 30 people responsible for ORBIT, the NC Pension Administration System, servicing over 900,000 benefit participants with over $100B in assets under management, the Statewide Core Banking Platform, managing over $20B in cash positions for 1,200 customers in state agencies, universities, and community colleges, as well as other critical statewide financial applications. Mr. Costanzo has also served as the Enterprise Data Manager for the City of Raleigh, NC and held managerial and technical positions with First Citizens Bank, Teladoc Health, and the Maryland General Assembly. He has been a PMI-certified Project Management Professional (PMP) since 2005, a Certified Scrum Master (CSM) since 2009, and completed the Certified Government Chief Information Officer (CGCIO) program at the University of North Carolina School of Government in 2011. A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, Mr. Costanzo holds an M.S. in Information Science, along with a Master of Public Administration (M.P.A.) from North Carolina State University.
